Light Bearer - A Poem by Saeihr K Williams

                               Behold,
                      the fair white serpent

Entwined within the tree

The glowing fruit he offers

So beautiful and free

Prometheus beside him

And Eris do I see

Laughing in the distance

Crying in the sea

Do not fear the gift they offer

An apple made of gold

“                      "kallisti” writ upon it

                       In letters deep and bold

Don't fear the fire it gives thee

Or what knowledge it may hold

That the Gods would fain deny you

But, lo, those gods are old.
