  THE SORCERER’S GUILD-THE SEARCH CONTINUES

It is in the search for an understanding of the nature of Magic that the Sorcerer’s Guild was created.  It is not to find one singular answer that they work to discover knowledge but to seek out the myriad of workable concepts that everyone may use.

Each group has its own energy and what could be called ‘culture” that defines the way a group operates and the sense of membership interaction, and this is true for The Sorcerer’s Guild.  One of the first things a member notices when they join is that there is a deliberate attempt to approach the searching for answers seriously and that you will often come across GUILD QUESTIONS.  These are questions that are posted for the purpose of discussion and are not designed to determine one single answer.  They are hashtagged within the group so it is possible to review group responses on topics.  It can be a productive endeavor for new members to review some of the answers and input on topics when they join.

While it can be stated that the energy of the group is on the serious side, that is not to say that the leadership and group take themselves so seriously that it is uncomfortable or controlling.  There is a sense of general comradery that has been developed that encourages involvement.  While there are obviously leaders within groups, The Sorcerer’s Guild has created a feel of interaction where people are accepted as equals.

The group has recently celebrated attaining a membership topping 10 thousand which can be a critical point for many groups.  Such a number in membership can often dilute the purpose of a group and make the interactions impersonal.  Such is not the case for this group.  They have managed to maintain the feel of a general connection that is interactive and inclusive.

ABOUT

"What is the nature of magic?"

No one can hand you the answer to that question because the nature of magic is a concept that cannot be defined with words but behaves like a multifaceted mirror that can alter its angles depending on what or whose reflection is being cast.

The Sorcerer’s Guild was founded with the intention of creating a space to foster dialogue between equals where we can discuss the deeper workings of spell craft and personal spirituality. In the spirit of this, The Guild has done its best to avoid any High Muckity-Mucks, gurus, or other versions of people who will not listen to sound reason or proven facts which contradict their opinions, or those who believe in "The One True" anything. These types of behaviors lead to taking ourselves too seriously and thereby damage the power of our spells.

The Sorcerer's Guild is a place for beginners and advanced practitioners, where no one voice overshadows or rises above as an overarching authority beyond question, a place where beginners are welcomed with practical knowledge necessary to successful spell craft, and where long term practitioners can self-promote and find new inspiration. we also have a book series on sorcery we are creating a group project.
