Letter from the Editor - A season of Discovery

At the start of every issue cycle I announce a theme to guide and inspire our writers. It's always a causal sort of thing, interpret the theme however you like, it is fun to see how and where they take these ideas because inevitably at least one of them ends up in a place you never would have imagined. This month they threw the theme right out the window and proclaimed this fall issue to be an issue of occult based fiction and art, but not without our usual community content as well.

As we move into this new season and we watch all of the things we’ve grown over the last months recede into hibernation or terminate into finality of the darkness coming on with each creeping day, it's time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished, how we’ll approach the oncoming cold, what our new goals will be as the spring approaches, but most importantly this is the season for taking care of yourself. Wrap up in a blanket, make some soup, read a scary story and prepare for next year. This is the pre-game, we still have a couple of weeks before it gets really cold (at least, here in Seattle, we’re having a fairly lovely late summer) so make your plans for the upcoming spooky season, read one of the stories from our authors, and enjoy yourself. We have all the time in the world
