Letter From the Editor - Rites of Spring - Issue Three- by Wrenja

Greetings and salutations, reader, as we creep ever so near spring, on this, the 15th of February. Some might know it as Lupercalia. I also know it as my best friend’s birthday. So today is extra special. This is our third issue, and while I’m still stumbling a fair bit between steps I am hanging in there and it is getting easier as I build understanding of the processes that go into running a magazine. Sometimes I wonder why I ever desired such a thing, but once this issue is out, it’s all dopamine baby.

So welcome to our spring issue, formally known as The Rites of Spring; Blood, Gold, and Glory! The theme is so visceral, it gets me excited for what is to come. It conjures up images in my head. It's aggressive yet positive, intense yet warm, pastoral yet bloodied. We, once again, will march triumphantly into spring and celebrate new life and new opportunities. I’m watching the rain wear away at the snow on the ground, but despite the cold life perseveres and overcomes, even the coldest, scariest, and darkest months.
